This is an appeal from a judgment of the circuit court for Dane county, which affirmed the order of the Department of Industry, Labor & Human Relations denying compensation for permanent disability to the applicant, Elsie Burks. Elsie Burks claims that she sustained permanent injury as a result of lifting a load of laundry into a washer while in the course of her employment at the Home for Aged Lutherans on March 22, 1967. On that date, while turning and stooping to pick up a load of clothes preparatory to putting it into the washer, she felt something snap in her back, and pain shot down to her right foot. She was unable to straighten up and was taken to a doctors office in a wheelchair. She received heat treatments and injections to relieve the pain.
